Statement of Purpose:

The Destined for a Dream Foundation is a non-profit organzation. The foundation will work on a national level to help promote and build awareness.  We will develop and implement workshops, seminars, camps, literacy awareness and other activites.  These are designed to build leadership, discipline, self esteem, teamwork, healthy lifestyles and professional development, where all children and young adults can grow academically, socially and culturally.  The foundation's primary focus is to work closley with underprivileged and disadvantaged youth between the ages of 12 and 19.

A little about the founder...........

Erica Waller-Hill, CEO

For me, being a wife and a mother of two girls, Capri and Nylah, I find myself on an average day wiping noses, assisting with homework and preparing dinner.  Being a working mother trying out for the Olympic Team and Directing a school center full time was not an easy task, but an awesome experience.

No matter what challenges you're faced with in life you can achieve excellence at whatever you dream!  I find my strength and encouragement in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Knowing who you are daily and your purpose keeps you grounded.

Growing up, there were so many opportunities for me to choose another path, but realizing the choices you make, ultimately determines your future.  I will admit that I didn't always make the right choices, but I eventually got it right!

As a native of Bucks County, I graduated from Harry S. Truman High School and went on to further my education at Widener University in Chester, PA.  At Widener University, I studied Early Childhood Education/Special Education and Liberal Studies with a concentration in Organizational development.

I'm passionate about the work that is ahead of me, seeing the children and adults that I've met on this journey was great!  The questions that some of the children and even adults had about their own dreams, made me realize that my journey was so much bigger and it must continue.

Vision

My "Vision" is to see our youth attain the inevitable, by believing that they hold the power to create and shape how they live and the choices they make.  We will help youth attain and reach their goals and continue to be a community resource.  In a community where dreams are crushed- this is a dawning of a new day where Dreams are cultivated.
