Our Programs:

After School Activities-  Destined for a Dream Foundation after school program is designed to empower our youth in maximizing their skill level, by providing the necessary educational and life skills to promote success during the school year.  Our many programs will help participating youth become positive and productive members of the community.  The after school program will run Monday -Friday.  Please contact us to locate all sites in your area.

Business/Entrepreneurship Financial LiteracyDestined for a Dream will introduce the curriculum of Microsociety.  This program enables students to become young entrepreneurs.   Students will begin to build and market their own businesses.  They will learn valuable skills including:
  • Time Management
  • Financial Planning
  • Leadership
  • Math as a survival skill
  • Reading and writing to succeed 

Healthy Lifestyles:  DFAD will address the many health issues that continue to plague our community, by educating individuals city wide on prevention, controlling, and living healthy lifestyles.  We will conduct monthly seminars on "how to live healthy".  DFAD will connect with several local doctors and agencies to assist with the training.

Dream Academy: 

·         Dream Academy: - a 27 week college-prep training program for students centering on building resiliency in high-risk youth that will engender them to pursue higher education.  The program promotes the development of the skills sets germane to successful matriculation through an institution of higher learning while dispelling the myths this population associates with college enrollment and completion; program operates 3 days a week.

DFAD will empower each student with helpful tools in meeting their dreams and life goals.  We will attend seminars, field trips, personal and professional training development and other training's to help promote successful and positive young women and men in our community.

Literacy First Tutoring & Mentoring:  DFAD tutoring & mentoring program will begin to develop leadership skills, life skills and social skills.  Working in groups and one on one sessions with our youth helping to promote teamwork, but also academics in reading.  This will be a 24 session curriculum based program.  DFAD will work with local professional sport teams to assist with our youth. This will take place twice a week.

Job Training & Placement: 

·         Job Training & Placement: a program geared to deterring youth from engaging in maladaptive and high-risk behaviors by providing alternatives through basic skills training and part-time summer employment.  During the school year, DFAD will assist students by conducting mock interviews and training for students to apply during the summer months.
